Canto degli Scali Florence

Some nuggests of history...

The name of this b&b comes from the Canto del Giglio, located between Via degli Speziali and Via dei Calzaiuoli. The Lily is the famous emblem of the city of Florence, found in three different contexts: on the sign of an apothecary shop, on that of an inn, and on the Church of Santa Maria Nipotecosa. Of course, each of these lilies had its own symbolism.
